Do you find yourself getting depressed or angry about the current state of affairs in the western world? I certainly do. I believe a large part of the problem is a growing and long-standing rift between individuals in our society. The causes of this are diverse and varied. Although it is important to understand the causes in order to develop a sustainable solution, dealing with the problem on an individual basis does not require this understanding.
Through this blog, I would like to gradually bring to light things that I have found useful, over the years, in helping to deal with the world as it is. Hopefully, these ideas will also be useful for your life. If they are, then spread the word, and help others in the process.
I plan on dealing with the causes in future posts, after proposing some solutions. I will also talk about political and financial consequences, causes, and solutions, but later on.
We have all been complicit in allowing things to decay, over a long time, to this point. I am sure you have noticed that the rate of decay has increased recently. The past two years have shown us the extent of our distrust of the media and our elected politicians. In turn, they have accelerated the decay. If we cannot trust them, then we are left to fend for ourselves. This is simply not acceptable in the modern world. We have all the conveniences necessary to enjoy life to its fullest. The only reason we don’t is because we are complicit. I know I have been complicit.
Personally, I have had enough. I am making a conscious effort to not be complicit with this state of affairs. I want to be part of the solution. The important part is to take a stand, and let others know what you are doing. Join me in saying you just can’t take it anymore:
I. Am. Not. Complicit.
